Pair of Old Small Amigurumi Mid Century Doll Ornaments
One appears to be a male and the other appears to be a female.
The male has a back strap so that he can carry his rolled up blanket. His shirt is a long sleeve yellow and he holds some pink yarn in each "hand." His pants are blue.
The female wears a skirt over yellow with two blue buttons.
Both have black hair with just a glimpse of it poking out the front from underneath their winter hats. Both also have handpainted faces over what I believe to be silk. Both have their feet knitted as a platform. I was able to get them to stand on their own very carefully and patiently, just out of curiosity as they are not meant for standing on a surface on their own.
There is no brand since these are lovingly handmade, but they do remind me of Japanese. If I had to gives these an age, I would say from the 1940s to the 1960s.
They each measure about three inches in height not including the string. The string that these hang by measures about three-quarters of an inch across when I round them out to take a measurement.
In excellent preserved condition
The yarn is nice and tight, woven extremely well.
There are no flaws that compromise the appearance of this pair.
